Erwin Cotton Mills, founded in Durham, North Carolina in 1892, supplied the Erwin BluSerge Denim for these tough garments that came with lifetime guarantees and were “sanforized shrunk” to allow for minimum shrinkage after laundering. Their ad campaign in 1938 was designed to be straightforward. It simply said, “Look for the Wichita Brand label when you buy overalls.”
